kde 3.2 startup error

This is a discussion about kde 3.2 startup error in the Everything Linux category; hello there. i installed woody and kde 3. 2 using apt-get utility. the kdm starts and when i login it starts a splash screen from kde and an error appears; could not start kdeinit. check your installation.

Same here. If someone has the answer, let me know.
 
Searching the web produced others having the same issue, but no resolution was suggested.
 
I did find that if you click OK on the small popup window that comes up with the message, then KDE starts normally.
 
Did you find that this was the case as well?

the thing is that when i will press ok on the error it will do nothing. all i have to do is to kill the xserver.
Do u thing that if i uninstall kde and try again will do the trick?
