need some help here... situation
PC= Packard Bell
OS= win10
HDD= 1TB - 2 partitions C: (sda 1-4) 500GB Win10 & data files NTFS / D:- (sda 5) 500GB NTFS unused
RAM=4GB
using Ventoy, I installed Mint Xfce v22 on the D drive - formatted as ext4, followed the instructions for dual boot, boot loader on sda1
- BIOS menu only lists windows boot loader,
- uefi selected
- i didn't disable secure boot when installing linux ( duh - is that the problem? )
- guidance from chatgpt...
- sudo update-grub ran OK
- sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt - ran OK no errors
- update-grub
- grub-install /dev/sda
- exit & reboot
no dual boot - hopefully just my fat fingers missing something simple???
thanks
