ISP connection problems

This is a discussion about ISP connection problems in the Everything Linux category; Hi all! I've managed to configure my modem and I can dial up using KPPP to my ISP. My problem is now when I open Mozilla and type in a URL (it can be anything) I get a screen from my ISP saying that there are problems logging on and I get told that my username and password are invalid.

Hi all!

I've managed to configure my modem and I can dial up using KPPP to my ISP.

My problem is now when I open Mozilla and type in a URL (it can be anything) I get a screen from my ISP saying that there are problems logging on and I get told that my username and password are invalid. I know for a fact that they are correct. I am unable to proceed any futher than this. . Its getting so near yet so far!

I am wondering if there is anything I have overlooked in setting things up. I'm going to try to reconfigure things as close as possible as they are in crapdows and see if that works. ie initialisation commands etc.

Any other suggestions?

Well at least I know my modem works!

Oh, one other thing, is there any way that KPPP starts automatically when I open mozilla, like dial up connection starts when I open IE explorer in poopdows?

Mandrake 9.2
Conexant HCF 56K Modem
ISP is BT Yahoo (UK)

Cheers,
DBG.

Try a different Linux browser and see if you still get the same error. Use Galeon or konqueror or Mozilla firebird.
