This is a discussion about Installing Linux 7.3 on Dell 650 in the Linux Hardware category; Currently trying to load Linux 7. 3 on a DELL 650. Have tryed on IDE drives and SCSI drives. There is no problems with the installation in either scenario. When installation is complete and the machine starts to boot, they hang at the end.

I understand that this is an old LINUX but I do not have a choice on this. Our simulation currently runs with this version of LINUX
Been trying to load for two days now and I will take any help possible
THanks
Scott

How about trying CentOS-2?
CentOS-2 is a free rebuild of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1AS. This version of Linux should be compatible with your application as well because it based on Red Hat Linux 7.2.
