How's Santa Cruz support going?

This is a discussion about How's Santa Cruz support going? in the Linux Hardware category; A major deterrant for me has been lack of full support for the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (Crystal 4630) sound card, mainly 4/6-speaker playback. Is the support already available, and if so in what Linuxes? Francis.

According to the ALSA Project website, the CS4630 has limited support from their drivers. Mandrake uses ALSA as its sound architecture, as does SuSe apparently but I can't tell you off hand whether support has made it into the kernels supplied with the lates versions of these distros.

My santa cruz works fine on the front 2 channels, but unfortunately no other channels are in use
No good for my speakers, but its fine if i'm just listening on my headphones.
