Griffin iMic

This is a discussion about Griffin iMic in the Linux Hardware category; does anyone out there know how to get the griffin imic to work with linux? preferably woody stable? the Griffin iMic is a usb audio device with mic input and headphone output. javascript:emoticon(' 🙂') it works realy well for recording audio and playing music on some other hardware platforms.

it works realy well for recording audio and playing music on some other hardware platforms.javascript:emoticon(':D')
 
i would like to use it on debian stable woody distribution, but i dont know exactly how.javascript:emoticon(' ;(')
 
i dont want to download and compile alsa because it is confusing.javascript:emoticon(' :x')
 
and i only had it work partialy and it was possibly/probably wrong in some way. javascript:emoticon(' ;(')
 
and there was a crash.javascript:emoticon(':(')
 
these emotacons are funny.javascript:emoticon(' :grinning:')
