Gnome fails to start
This is a discussion about Gnome fails to start in the Everything Linux category; Hi folks, FedoraCore3 On the Login Screen Session -> only 3 items there 1. Default 2. KDE 3. Failsafe - Terminal Gnome disappears The default login of Root is Gnome but it only starts Failsate-Terminal.

On the Login Screen
Session -> only 3 items there
1. Default
2. KDE
3. Failsafe - Terminal
Gnome disappears
The default login of Root is Gnome but it only starts "Failsate-Terminal".
This problem happened after removing a sound package with "yum remove package"
Running "yum update" could not discover any problem.
Please advise. TIA

Try using yum or APT to reinstall all the GNOME packages.
