disc4 mandrake 10.0

This is a discussion about disc4 mandrake 10.0 in the Everything Linux category; when i installl mandrake it asked me for the 4th disk!!! but i dont have one so i only installed up to 3 disk only when i boot to linux i dont get any gui, how can i use mandrake in gui mode not in console mode???

During the install, Mandrake should have asked you what disks that you had, with an option to de-select the ones that you did not have.
 
But this sounds like a different issue, maybe an x-window issue.
 
What happens when you type startx at the console?
 
What system specs do you have?

I don't remember the install asking what disk's I had with the option of selecting or de-selecting disk numbers with Mandrake 10. I installed with only Disk 1-3. Anyway, I agree with danleff about the startx. Depending on what your system specs are and what happens when you type startx I am sure I can help you with this problem as I have dealt with it extensively on my machine.
