card services and RH Fedora core2

This is a discussion about card services and RH Fedora core2 in the Everything Linux category; I have the orinoco gold(old version) wireless card and cannot get the card service to see it. when I installed fedora it loaded the orinoco_cs drivers but it is not being seen by the pcmcia device. I'm trying to migrate from WinBlows and Linux is not making the transition easy.

Hi Sunra and welcome!

I've never used that card with Core 2 but have with Core 1 and it worked flawlessly after configuring it, which was pretty simple. First, lets check what card you actually have. Is it an 8410 Classic Gold like this one? Did you configure it from system-config-network?

A friendly word of advice when moving from Windows: Linux will not make it easy for you to move from Windows since there are great differences in the two operating systems.

It takes patience and perseverance to learn anything new, but in the end it will be well worth it. If you want Linux to work for you, it's up to you to learn Linux. That's where we can help.
