This is a discussion about boot up screen in the Everything Linux category; hi, i'm new to linux, i am currently dual booting with windows xp and linux mandrake 9. 2 when the boot up screen comes up, i cant choose any options using a usb keyboard. so i hafto use a keyboard that plugs into the keyboard port.

also is there a way to set windowsxp as default boot up??

Yes to both questions.
Without knowing what system you have, look in the bios setup, usually under, I think, integrated peripherals, and choose to enable USB keyboard support. Save your settings and reboot. See if that solves the use of keyboard issue.
