beginner struggling with installation

This is a discussion about beginner struggling with installation in the Linux Hardware category; i have just installed Ferdora Core onto my harddrive and all seems to be working well. Just one small complication and that is my mouse is not recognised. It is a microsoft Intellimouse USB. Any possible solutions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hmm? that mouse should work can you see if the following is in /etc/modprobe.conf

alias usb-controller uhci-hcd

if you could post your Xfree86.conf file that might help too. It's in /etc/X11 it may be named something similar to Xfree86-4.conf or something. I'm a little fried from working on HPUX all day so you'll have to excuse me if the file name isn't exact.
