I have an Asus p4p800 deluxe motherboard with onboard 3com 3c940 gigabit and Mandrake 9.2
 
i'm only very noob at Linux(by a few hours) and all i wanna do is to join a LAN but when i go to connect to a LAN my NIC is not listed .... but it has it listed in the hardware section of whats in my computer
 
I tried to install the drivers off the motherboard cd for the NIC but they didnt work .... well at least not as it had stated in the read me
 
Can ya's help a noob
 
lol if you can't userstand what i mean don't blame me i'm just a noob but i can try to explain it better if needed

Welcome to linux! open a terminal su to root try...

ifup eth0
then Code:
ifconfig -a
and see what you got. Did you try the mandrake control center to configure the card?
