I am not exactly sure what you are talking about..I haven't used this program, but i hear only good things about it...but it turns out my wireless card is the only card not to have an .inf file...its called ndiscwrapper...best wireless card dealio for linux i believe...someone correct me if i'm wrong.

try "iwlist wlan0 scan" (substitute the name of your wireless interface
for 'wlan0', as appropriate. use "iwconfig" to list interfaces, if needed)
