Alsa?

This is a discussion about Alsa? in the Everything Linux category; I'm trying to get alsa to work perfectly with my turtle beach santa cruz dsp sound card. . right now i can get sound, but if i introduce another device to input sound(like a dvd and mp3 at same time) it breaks up and lags greatly, is this just linux or i havn't configed it right? I've tried to read the sites readme ...

I tried to get alsa working with a TB santa cruz card, and never got it to work right. It's sitting on my "boat anchor" shelf. I ran out and got a soundblaster. That card sure did sound good when I was using it under Windows..

Oh, I got it to work all right, but it just didn't ever sound really great. The Soundblaster sounds much better.

well the thing is, it works, the sounds and all..but i was wondering if its just my set up currently that it causes the comp to lag immensely when i have tw sounds at once...ie an internet explorer with sound and mp3 player...
