Hi... I installed fedora on my acer... it was quite painless... then I updated the video card (VIA KM400), and the driver for the touchpad.

The problem now is that when I choose to poewr down, it restarts the laptop... I have either to use the button or to go to win XP and power down from there... any ideas?

OP
by the way... I've tried to boot with acpi=on, and the booting had frozen... apparently I have to use only APM... and my bios setup doesn't say much about it...

There have been a few posts on this model. Good to hear that you got the drivers to work

Try booting with the acpi=off option.

Or try noapic.

Are you using Grub or Lilo as your bootloader?
