I have mdk9.2RC2 up and running on my notebook, a compaq presario 6714ea with DVD 512 memory buildin NIC etc.
Only needed to recompile the latest cooker kernel to apply acpi. Due to a problem by compaq design I see the battery charger status, but I can not see the temperature.
Without ACPI the notebook was very hot, but with acpi it seems okay
