Tested in 32-bit and 64-bit XFCE on:
- Ubuntu 16.04 / 18.04
- Debian 9 / 10 / 12 / 13 (only 64-bit version 13)
- Linux Mint 18 / 21
- Zorin OS 17.3
Display issues on all distributions:
- The PC freezes randomly and frequently, especially when trying to view a video with a video player.
- The display isn't accelerated enough, making it unusable for videos with YouTube or VLC.

The cause is the GeForce 7100/nForce 630i VGA chipset.
The "nouveau" drivers installed by default with these distributions are not suitable.
The NVIDIA 304.137 driver for this model is difficult to install. But if you're lucky enough to succeed, the kernel won't use it or will behave strangely.
The solution is to disable all display drivers, nouveau or otherwise. The PC no longer freezes, but the display becomes mediocre and unaccelerated, making it unusable with a modern browser.

FYI:
After spending many hours trying to get Linux to run properly on this motherboard, I had no choice but to give up. The PC is currently running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, and it works perfectly, with no crashes, except for stuttering 1080P MKV videos. Everything works as it should under Linux.

Sur toutes les distributions, problème d'affichage:
- le PC se fige aléatoirement fréquemment, surtout lorsqu'on veut afficher une vidéo avec un player vidéo.
- l'affichage n'est pas assez accéléré, inexploitable sur les vidéos avec youtube ou vlc.

En cause, le chipset vga Geforce 7100/nforce 630i.
Les pilotes "nouveau" installés d'office avec ces distributions ne sont pas adaptés.
Le pilote nvidia 304.137 approprié pour ce modèle est difficile à installer. Mais si par chance vous y arrivez, le noyau ne veut pas l'utiliser ou se comporte de manière étrange.
Solution, désactiver tous les pilotes d'affichages, nouveau ou autre. Le Pc ne fige plus, mais l'affichage devient médiocre et sans aucune accélération, donc inexploitable avec un navigateur moderne.

Pour info:
Après avoir passé de très nombreuses heures à essayer de faire fonctionner correctement linux sur cette carte mère, je n'ai pas eu le choix que d'abandonner. Actuellement, le PC tourne sous windows 7 ultimate SP1, il fonctionne parfaitement, aucun plantage, hormis les vidéos MKV en 1080P qui saccadent, tout fonctionne comme cela aurait du l'être sous linux.
