Mount Rainer

JLP
I just recently bought Teac CD-W540E which has hardware support for Mount Rainer format. What do I need to use Mount Rainer functions in Linux? Newes kernel? Some special software? Both? I hope you can help as Mount Rainer is a very cool thing and you can really use CD-RWs just like floppy.

The shared users thing is cool, but...

CUViper
The shared users thing is cool, but it causes some issues with the last visited functionality. Apparantly, the last visited entry is also shared between sites. For instance, when I go to NTC and click on view posts since last visit, it shows me the posts since the last time I visited either NTC or the new LC site.

Compatibility submissions

Shoikan
Do you have to be registered to submit compatibility reports? I entered a couple before I registered and I wondered if I would have to submit them again to get them shown. . . . .

Hi again, does the board software allow uploads (up to 256 KBytes) so we can upload pictures and screenshots w/o owning webspace? That would be cool, cos we can make a My Desktop thread (and of course, the usual flaming my theme is better than yours, lol).

Radeon 8500 support in Linux

Palos
Well, on a more serious note: I have a Hercules 3DProphet 8500LE and it seems to have only 2D support with the new XFree 4. 2. 0. There are some rumours that the ATI FireGL 8x00 drivers WILL work with the 8500 since they both have the same core (the R200), however I could not get them to work Did anyone try this an ...

.NET in Linux?

clutch
I thought this was pretty cool: Basically, you can compile and run C# apps in Linux, and there are a couple of other languages they are working on as well (one for GNOME GUI apps and another named Vorbis#).
