I am facing issues with my netwok configuration in fedora core 4. When i run network config wizard, it doesn't give me an option of any USB network device. I have got a DSL modem installed on USB port and so can't make out how to make it work in Fedora.

Hi Everyone From the old version of NT Compatible web site there used to be a search facility from which you could search all articles or drives section or any section or all sections. I can't seem to find this facility anymore.

dialup icon ?

Got fedora core 4 up and going, with my winmodem, thanks to danleff here and the good people over at 1. Is there a dialup icon, or some such ? Suse dropped a little plug icon in the system tray (is that the right term?), and I just clicked on it to connect or disconnect.

Installation Problems on HP Pavilion

I have gotten an Hp Pavilion 6630 machine from a friend of mine. It has a 500Mhz Celeron Processor, 64Mg SDRAM, and a 10GB hard drive. The problem I am having is that I want to put FC4 or similar on this machine.

Call of Duty -- cannot start

I installed CoD with the loki installer. I try to use WINE to start CoDMP. exe. It shuts off my monitor and does not do anything else. I have an ATI 9500 128 MB DDR with the latest drivers installed.

newbie here. . . can anyone help me and my groupmates how to configure replication in fedora core 4. we've followed the steps in Karkomaonline. . . but nothing happens. we've retyped the script over and over and it seems we are really out of track.

Fedora core boot problem

Hi all, I have installed Fedora core 3 on VMWare 4. 5 with the host OS being RedHat linux9. THe installation completed without any error. At partition it took /dev/sda (I dont know whether it is creating problem).

Configuring wireless for FC2

Hi, I just installed FC2 on a dual boot environment. I have connectivity through wire, but I'd like to configure my wireless. I'm entirely new to Linux. Does anyone one how I can configure it and where I could get drivers? Itz a proxim 802.

fc4 install fails

my pc's already dual boot - I use suse 9. 1 pers mostly, and w2k occasionally. I don't really want to break either. I installed fc4 from dvd, and it all appeared to go ok, but the boot was unchanged - just offered suse & w2k.

Hi, I have been using XP for ages now and found my brothers Mandrake 7. 2 desktop box lying around so I thought since I was going to format and reinstall XP anyway I would also give Linux ago. Main problem is - the manuals are in french.

installing fedora core 4 on sada raid0

Where can I get information on installing fedora core 4 on a sada raid0. It is software raid. I already have windows XP and windows server 2003 installed with 4 other partitions. From what I can see fedora is only seeing the sda not the sdb.

Trouble installing Fedora with ISO images

I downloaded the ISO images x86 from for my AMD Athlon PC. According to the documentation, you are supposed to be able to boot with the ISO images. I also downloaed an ISO image extractor from I thought extracting the image would help but it didn't work either.

Madwifi: Set Bit Rate failure

Hi all, I have my D-link wireless card running using the madwifi driver, however it always reports an error when starting: Set Bit Rate failed. From what i can see it is running at about 54-56bps but is capable of 108.

DSL / SBCGLOBAL SUSE install - HELP!!! (home network/router/DSL)

Hi, I'm first time Linux user, possible convert, but I can't get 10. 0 SUSE Prof. to recognize the DSL or the home network (at least not as near as I can tell). I DID have a problem with disk#4 being unreadable, and so I downloaded a disk 4.
