Hi i have just put on mandrake 10. 1 on my pc never used linux before so a little lost i cant seem to get on the internet i have a onboard 10/100 network card and an extunal adsl router, i have gone through all the wisards and put in all the correct ip address etc but nothing happens i cant even access the rounter ...

NVU in Mandrake - Help

I have version 0. 60 of NVU on my Mandrake system which came as an RPM. Love it to death. Downloaded 0. 70 and it came as a Fedora core and it has a bunch of scripts, which beyond me. Does anyone have any idea how I can load this? Check out the update at Thanks! Chris.

Help - Fedora Core 3 RAID recommendations?

Hi all, Great site. I am new to linux and would like to set up some test servers at work. These are older servers without onboard raid etc. I am also thinking of setting up a simple file server and maybe a intranet webserver using apache.

too busy cpu

Hey, I'm not sure if I should post this here but. . Im using an AOpen laptop (1557) and linux fedora core 3. . My problem is that the CPU is 100% in use all the time, so the fan is going nonstop. I am not doing jack sh** while this is going on.

Installing Firefox

Hi, Im new to Linux. . . I dowloaded the Firefox Installer from Mozilla (firefox-1. 0intaller. tar. gz). Can someone please tell me how to select the proper destination folder (the Internet tfolder with all of the other Web applications) to install the application? I have tried once.

Well I have seen first hand how a good memory optimizer can help and I have also seen where it didn't or actually degraded performance somewhat. This being said leads me to believe that there are *always* going to be scenario's where these kinds of apps will work wonders and others that it will not.

I have installed epiphany browser1. 2. 4 on Fedora core 2. But anytime i try to open a site it gives an error message that The connection was refused when attempting to contact this site Though Mozilla is properly installed on my system and Proxy settings in Mozilla is proper.

xmlhelp page in konqueror

Anyone using a relatively new Konqueror? Going to the xmlhelp page on this site or NT Compatible and it brings Konqueror to its knees. . . slows down to a crawl and almost never loads the page completely.

Fedore Core3 and SMC 2532 wireless

I am running Fedore Core 3 and a SMC 2532 wireless adapter. It is working but the performance seems to varly greatly. The link quality is always very good but I've noticed that the tx-power is all over the place.

Problems Installing Fedora 3

I'm new to linux and am having problems installing fedora 3. I've wiped my HD and booted from the iso cd I downloaded from the web. It go's through the install ok and let it auto partition the drive (but takes about 1 1/2 hours but it is a slow pc (celeron 466)).

Hey, I was just wondering if it's possible to hook up 2 sets of speakers onto a desktop computer? There's a speakers plug, mic plug, earphones, and another one with the symbol with a circle in the middle and outlines of circles going away from it.
