Installing Mandrake v10 Linux

Hey, I currently have Windows XP Pro but I want to install Mandrake Linux version 10 on my second hard drive which is FAT32. I'm using the floppy disk to help me boot the install. But, when i get to the install and it asks me to pick a cd drive, i put my primary and it says that the Mandrake cd is not inside.

Installing apt in SuSE 9.1/64

Does anyone know if there is a build of apt that is compatable with SuSE 9. 1 x86_64? I've tried installing the 9. 1 rpm binaries but I always get an error that libraries are not installed yet they are in usr/lib64 (I'm at work, I believe that's where they are installed).

Another Mandrake 10 install problem

Well sounds like there are quiet a few newbie posts on the boards, so I thought I'd add to it. I'm creating a multiple boot test box, with multiple OS installed. I am installing windows 2k, windows server 2003, and Mandrake linux 10.

hey, I'm farely new to the open source community. I switched from windows nt to mandrake. I was a big fan of Adboe Photoshop 7, I was woundering if there was a cross over of it, or if there was a program similar to it.

Hey I reinstalled WinXP and lost the grub bootloader. I know this has been asked alot and ive read several answers but havent found anything that works for me. #/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda gives that grub cannot be found, although its there.

About ATI driver installation under redhat linux AS 2.1

I installed redhat enterprise linux AS 2. 1 on my notebook. It said cannot probe my video card(radeon 9000 mobility),then I downloaded driver from ATI,installed,graphic interface appears but I encountered the following problem while running fglrxinfo:relocation error:/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.

What about FreeBSD?

What are your opinions on FreeBSD? Is it good? Does it run fast on low end hardware? Ive heard that its good as a workstation. I have a copy of it on CD(FreeBSD 5. 2. 1 mini-install) but it's the Mini-install version which means it uses the internet to download some apps.

Hey everyone, I was here a while back and I never got linux working properly on my computer. I'm back to give it a second try. Ok, so linux installs fine and boots fine and all that, but I can't get the internet configured! So, one of you guru's please check out my hardware and see if it's compatible with linux.

Hi guys. When i try to install Mandrake 10, when the setup asks for the 3rd CD, i insert it and it shows again the message saying to insert the 3rd CD. I burned another CD, downloaded again the 3rd CD, nothing worked.

Hi Afte much research and consideration I finally decided to give Mandrake 10 a shot. After downloading the 3 packs I burnt them as image on CD and then reinstalled my notebook original config using my system utility.

Dear Danleff, thanks for you assisatance. Infact, i am using PCQLinux 2004 Linux. This is a Linux complied by one Magazine Company. PCQLinux 2004 is based on Fedora and RH Linux 9. 0. I mean this is a hybrid version by merging both Fedora and RHLinux 9.
