Hi, I've just bought RedHat 9. 0 and tried to install it on my system. When I put the cd in the computer I restarted it and then the setup began. When it asked me if I wanted graphic installation or text I clicked graphic.

AOC LCD "Input Not Supported" - Newbie

Hi I recently bought an AOC LM720A LCD. I run Win98SE, Win2K and Suse 8 on my machine (apologies for all the WinX stuff). All works fine - except when I boot Linux. Then I get a message box Input Not Supported which slowly moves around the screen.

Need some advice. There is a suspicion that one of the network users is stealing data. There is a CD burner in the office + they are allowed web based email also. I thought to install some spy software like: We need to see if he/she is mailing the data out or even using the CD burner.

I'm using rh9 now and i recently changed my graphics card to an NVIDIA geforce FX 5500 256MB RAM. But i discovered to my horror that rh9 couldn't detect my card and that it could only support maximum 128 MB video RAM.

I would like to downoad Fedora Core 2, but it seems bittorent is the only viable way to go right now. Tried the cd iso's first and got as far as btdownloadgui /home/XXX/FC2-i386-isos. torrent But t always times out with the tracker error.

I am new to linux and just downloaded and installed Mandrake on my computer in a Windows network. I'm very happy with the installation but now face a new challange. How can I view other computers and download a file from another computer's sharedocs local? (just like I'd normally do in xp windows).

Anyone else having a huge difficulty getting this to work? I just redid my comp today, and i went to download nad install. . it is way differnt. . it lags my comp to all ends. . when i try to execute files it just says: Exception in thread main java.

I am trying to install Mandrake 10. 0 on a new AMD 2600+ with a 40gb hard drive. I downloaded the. iso files 10. 0 Community and copied the. iso to the 3 disks. I put disk one into the cd and it wouldn't boot.

Mandrake 10 and HP All-in ones

I installed Mandrake 10 on the HP551. It seems to have found all the hardware. It even knows how to scan and print with OfficeJet r60 all-in-one. Well,sort of. . . The GIMP can scan images ok but,for some reason ,it can't find the r60 printer.

Damn Small blows me away..

I played around with Damn Small 5 when it came out several months back, and for a distro you can fit onto one of those mini cds, I thought it was novel and interesting. 2 nights ago I downloaded Damn Small 7, and have been playing with it ever since.

total newbie question

I have tried knoppix and I would like to get more into linux. I was thinking about installing it on my D: drive (518 MB) as I have Windows ME on my C: drive. Is this possible? Can I then have a choice in what OS I run? Are there any good free distributions that I can try out? Thanks for any help.
