Hello everyone, I'm just starter in Linux and I've got one small question. Last week I've installed Linux Mandrake9. 1. I have got NVidia GeForce FX5200 128MB 128bit graph. card and the graphics in Linux is too slow (for example Tux racer, csmash).

My situation: I have one empty harddrive. I want to have there two OSes - win2000 and MDK9. 1. Which is the most safely way to do that. I have bad experience from past that I had installed windows and then I installed linux the windows corrupted.

For you winXX refugees. I f you are familiar with and like the Netscape web browser , it is available for Linux. If you have never tried Netscape, I think you should try it. Netscape 7. 1 has the same look ,ease of use and all the extras in the Linux release as in the win version.

I upgraded from RH9 to Fedora over the weekend, and was pleased to see many unresolvable issues with RH 9 have been addressed and corrected. I was however disappointed that Galeon was not included in the release, and apt-get demanded it's deletion, otherwise it would recognize it as a broken package.

Hi to all, please give me a hand. I've a wonderful F/F racing wheel that I've never used! Bought for W95/98, it is now on W2K pro (SP3). Downloaded both software and drivers (for W2K) from thrustmaster web site, it works as hardware itself, with all related settings.

Until recently, there were three programs that I absolutely had to have in Windoze: 1. A paint prgram like Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop 2. An image catalogger like Thumbs Plus and 3. A virtual drive encryption program like Scramdisk or E4M.

Connecting to Internet using Mandrake

I have not yet installed Mandrake Linux 9. 1 but was wondering whether you can (easily) connect to the internet from mandrake. Does this involve installing TCP/IP protocols? And whats all this stuff about PPP scripts?? I have a WinModem which Lycoris detected so Im assuming Mandrake will as well?.

I'm getting the severe problems with apt. Downloads from the repository ok, but then I get an error. the message is: 'No priority (or zero) specified for pin' So what's that? How do I give it a value.

hey people, today i tried an evaluation cd of SuSE (live based, on-the-fly). while it was loading during the boot splash it supported my standard usb mouse. but then when the desktop began to load, the mouse pointer was left helpless in the middle of the screen.
