I'm just making the final switch from M$ to Linux. Had Mandrake 9. 0 in a dual boot with Windows, just toyed with it for a while and it worked fine, then replaced it with Mandrake 9. 2. Newer version runs MUCH slower than 9.

hi i dont know how to mount a folder from windows to linux so that my linux OS sees the folder i also cannot get connected to the net cos my internal Modem BCM V. 92 doesnt support Linux 9 or the drivers havent come out yet does anyone have the drivers that i dont know of do reply thanks.

Can someone help me? I installed mandrake 9. 2 and when asked for the nic card info I chose the ne module because it said NE2000 compatible. the automatic install failed and then I was asked to fill in 3 boxes.

Now my Wifi networks works (almost) fine. Unfortunately I have no gateway and no DNS configured. You know why ? Because my device is configured with command line syntax (like ifconfig wlan0 your_ipaddr).

Does anyone know any good web based MSN Messangers? I'm still trying to fix my but for now I just wanna try a few web based ones. So far I've been only tried EMessanger. It seems fine but sometimes it just doesn't send or recieve any messanges.

I'm completely new to Linux and I'm trying to install SuSe 9. 0 live-eval to my new Dell 8300 (SATA Raid 0). It's a dual boot with XP (Powerquest Bootmagic). Linux istalls or starts and put something on the hard discs but does't boot when I restart (if I choose XP it starts).

I have win xp on my newer computer and have just installed mandrake linux 9. 2 on my old computer. I want to network to two of them for file and internet sharing. I have 2 network cards on the one running win xp and a cable internet connection.

Anyone know a list of ips i can add to those that come with it? Right now i can't connect to like any servers too, it did this before when i had first installed it but then it began to work. . . anyone know how to fix this problem? Daum.

Hi i need to know how to set up a network to share files and printers from an xp machine to a red hat 7 machine. i really dont know where to start. i have got internet connection sharing working. my xp machine has the connection and the red hat machine get the connection fine.

Thats an ss of my system monitor, the drive that i have clicked i think is the swap drive. . . what do i have wrong, that its always using that much memory and no swap, or is that just me? I ask becuase to play tuxracer my comp lags insane amounts(with the graphics or something, but i have an nvidia 2 card which cl ...

Just as i thought i was getting a little bit better at linux. . . everything starts going wrong lol. . . . so right nwo, i restarted my comp. . . and it seemed fine, well except it was taking a while to boot.
WHERE CAN I FIND A FULL VERSION OF MANRAKE 9.1??

Anyone have a copy of a current one? ayo. freshrpms. net is my source list (well off their site is where my yum is up since i used synpatic and it uses hteir site atm) and i want to get back to the normal update list that comes with yum preinstalled on fedora.

I'm trying to get alsa to work perfectly with my turtle beach santa cruz dsp sound card. . right now i can get sound, but if i introduce another device to input sound(like a dvd and mp3 at same time) it breaks up and lags greatly, is this just linux or i havn't configed it right? I've tried to read the sites readme ...

OK, I have used Mandrake and RPM/MDK, and now Debian with apt-get, Synaptic and DEB. I want to install Firefox. I had no prob in Windoze, but I have never used something in tar. gz. It is not source, (I looked inside the file and all the binaries seem to be there.

I setup WindowsXP to dual boot with Mandrake 9. 2 with Mandrake being first on the drive. It seemed to load great then I get a login screen which I enter my sn i used during install and a pw as well which i also type in.

Hi I installed Connectiva Linux 10 Beta 1. It really is shaping up to be a great distibution - with all of the latest bleeding edge applications you can think of. The only problem is that I can't work out how to load modules I need at boot time.
