Fedora setting network card speed to 100

Everytime I set the speed to 100 and it is a 3com 10/100 card the setting s don't seem to stay at 10. Is there another step that I may not be aware of some please assist?.

I just downloaded Mandake 9. 2 I am TOTALLY NEW to Linux. I have heard great things, so thought i'd give it a try. file:/usr/share/doc/HTML/index. html I am lost in so many ways. I can't figure out how to run half the programs I install, and no idea how to run the command prompt.

I want to upgrade my kernel to 2. 6. x on an NForce2 mobo with IGP graphics. I need some help with upgrade process and need to know if the unified driver tarball from NVIDIA's website will work along with my ethernet.

Mandrake 9.2 installation - booting but can't access cdrom

I get the message: I can't access a Mandrake Linux Installation disc in your CDROM drive (TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-1902B) The last time I used the disked about a month ago it installed just fine. What factors would keep it from installing this time? *Right now I have no OS installed.

As many of you know, everythign that could go wrong went wrong. . i finally got xp installed. . . but i wanted linux but couldnt' due to my cd roms being so bad. . . so, basically i called dell and they like fine we will send a technician to your place.

All the kde 3. 2 rpms for mandrake 9. 2 are at disposal at this FTP address: It's very difficult to compile kde 3. 2. Konstruct returns me ununderstandable recursive compilation errors for kdelibs, and manual compilation fails too, though the configure scripts do not declare amy trouble.

I am trying to install 9. 0 via ftp. I ran the boot. iso cd and got through the couple of menus to put in the server ip address. (i. e. dhcp, network module both set up correctly) The problem is that once I put in an ftp ip address.
