Well, I finally took the linux plunge. Everything went pretty smooth. It did take me about 20 minutes to get figure out which line to add to the Xfree86 config to get my scroll wheel working, but I digress.

hello guys! today i have just installed mandrake linux 9. 1, and it's a little all new to me, so far ive only been using windoze. . . so i decided to try something else for a change. but i have this problem: i cannot set up an internet connection on linux.

Imposible ISDN/RDSI internet connection in mandrake 9.2

I've proved with 2 different isdn cards in mandrake 9. 2. Both worked properly in 9. 1 and 9. 0, but in this one, the mandrake control center appears empty. In the init, the services for rdsi and ippp0 are active.

How to make ATI drivers work in RH9/Fedora

Spent more than a few nights trying to figure out how to make it happen. I've yet to see if the AIW tv functonality works and I havn't tested dual monitors. This is a basic guide and may be not even the right way but since I hadn't found any place else describe how to do it I figured I'd post.

New PC Monitor suffering from interferance

I just got myself a AOC Spectrum 7F monitor (17 Flatscreen), and while generally it's display is great, it has a problem with electrical/magnetic interference (more than my previous monitor). Right now it's showing wavyness on screen, which the manual says is due to electrical devices causing interference.

Uninstall an RPM problem

I am trying to uninstall an RPM that I know is installed on RH9. So I do the following to verify the name: # rpm -qa | grep ^mplayer mplayer-skins-1. 3-2. fr Then I try to uninstall it with the folowing and it tells me that the package is not installed but it seems to me that it actually is.

i didnt partition when i installed redhat, and now im having trouble getting into windows XP is there a way for me to get into windows by editting grub. conf? or did i mess up so much that ive lost all my data on windows XP? i didnt backup by the way.

I received a warning today from Tech Republic that the main source code for the Linux kernel was hacked last week. A hacker changed just 2 lines of the code which would of enabled him/them to gain access over a system running that code.
