Creative SB Live! Series (WDM) Help in SuSe 8.2 Pro

Hello, I am new to the board and to Linux. I just installed SuSe 8. 2 Professional and the automatic configuration did not work for my sound card, Modem and Network Adapter. The OS recognized (listed in YaST) my Soundblaster Live! Soundcard but when I tested it , it did not work.

wow i am impressed i bought a new case today - the only change from my old case is that it has a fan cut out right at the CPU level - with a duct about 4 inches long, that can extend to touch the CPU fan.

hi I'm trying to set up a small network exporting nfs (/home on the server). When I did this on RH8 there was a box for 'Other Ports at the bottom of the Firewall gui. There isn't on on my RH9 (despite the SAMS book showing it clearly) Am I missing something obvious?? tia richo.

hi all. I just bought a toshiba e310 pocket pc from a friend for a decent price, but i found its window capabilities to be rather un-impressive. . . anyone know if this thing is linux compatible, and if it is how i can load linux on it? i've googled it and have gotten no results.

I seem to have a big problem here. I need to connect to the internet but the Kernel does not seem to recognize my NIC card so I am stuck. Its is a VIA Rhine Integrated into the MB. HP doesn't support Linux to send me drivers, and VIA Tuch just won't talk to me.

Good morning I have been having some strange occurences with RedHat 9 and decided to do a reinstall. So I start, and ask it to format the partitions and check for bad blocks. I have /dev/hdd1 for / and /dev/hdd7 for /usr.

it says in the Suse-Compatible-List, that the above mentioned sound card is fully compatible. does that mean, I actually do have surround sound? cause with the SB Live 5. 1 it doesn't work, Suse notes it as being not supported.

How to access files second hard drive

I am a new Linux user. I have RedHat Linux 9. 0. I need some help knowing how to access my files on a second hard drive partitioned and formated as FAT32 & NTFS and running windows xp. Also I can't access a partition on the same hard drive that is running Linux.
