Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 02/23/2011 11:31 PM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

GNOME 3 Beta 1 has been released

One more important step towards the great GNOME 3 release! It's pretty
clear that things are getting much more stable release-wise. Thanks
everyone! This release has got a quite a lot of updates including bugs
fixes and user-visible improvements in GNOME Shell. The Network Manager
bits are going through a lot of changes for the 0.9 release.

So, what are you waiting for? Download it! Build it! Test it! Break it!

To compile GNOME 2.91.90, you can the jhbuild [1] modulesets [2] (which
use the exact tarball versions from the official release):

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
--------------------------

This release is a snapshot of development code. Although it is buildable
and usable, it is primarily intended for testing and hacking purposes.
GNOME uses odd minor version numbers to indicate development status.

For more informations about 2.91, the full schedule and the official
module lists, please see our colorful 2.91 page on the wiki:

We hope you'll love it,
