"The SimplyMEPIS 3.3-test02 bootable CD has been uploaded to the usual mirror sites and the MEPIS premium FTP site.

This release introduces a GUI based GRUB boot menu system. Language and display resolution can be selected from pull down menus. A more detailed boottime help system is available in a popup window. Warren says "I hope this will make it easier for users to boot into the CD using the language and display resolution of their choice."

Hardware autodetection has been added for more firewire and nic devices. Skype 1.0 is included in this release. Other packages have been updated. SimplyMEPIS 3.3 will now enter a code freeze except for bug fixes.

MEPIS has purchased a HP Pavilion laptop which has made it possible to verify out of the box Centrino support for graphics and wireless G in this release."
