I installed Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) and the Intel QX6700 Core 2 Quad Extreme processor and 4 GB of memory. It was effortless. The OEM instructions on mobo installation were graphical, excellent, in several major languages (including REAL English!). I was able to run Windows XP SP2 under kernel virtual machine (kvm) using the virtualization hardware on the processor. This was all painless. I ran several tests, multiple thread and single threaded. One single threaded app I care a lot about uses fftw (http:www.fftw.org). The fftwf-wisdom, using SSE and fftw-wisdom using SSE2 completed five times faster than I have ever seen the complete before on my Pentium 4 3.2 GHz hyperthread or on my AMD Athlon MP dual processor machine. I am very impressed with this mobo.
