2006-02-20 15:45:24 - Operating System: Red Hat Linux/RHEL - My rating:
The product works during RedHat Enterprise 4.x install right up until it either has to format partitions, or start copying the files.
Then the entire OS freezes. And when I use Damn Small Linux to mkfs an ext3 partition on the raid array, it freezes at random points through the job.
It did work for 11 months, then it refused to restart in Colo. So I brought the system home, and find that the RAID card is now in this state, i.e. any attempt to work with it causes fatal system crashes.
I'd say, this works, but it's too flimsy and unreliable to be expected to work for long periods of time or in any kind of a production environment. I personally am going to the professionals, 3Ware.
