I have used the 7600GS with Edgy and Feisty. The only thing I have had to do is install the binary drivers that come in add/remove, go through sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, fill out the details and do a restart to apply the changes.

this has given me 1600x1200@75Hz on a 19" CRT, and now 1600x1200@85Hz on a 21" CRT.

I have not played any games. Great site!!
