Zen Browser 1.17.8b released
The latest update for Zen Browser, version 1.17.8b, brings several key improvements that enhance user experience. One notable change is the browser's move to Firefox 145.0.1, which should bring stability and performance enhancements.
If you use Zen to organize your tabs into folders, give a brief drag-and-drop update! Then you're probably already liking this change: the folder dragging feels smoother than before.
Also for tab management: when juggling multiple open tabs, those close buttons only pop up now when you hover over them. That's definitely a nicer touch, making it easier to see where you are without clutter.
Speaking of tidiness, the visual look has gotten better too. Separators between groups or individual tabs will always show if there's an unpinned tab present on your screen. It keeps everything neat and makes spotting stray windows just that little bit simpler.
The developers also fixed up a couple of things related to core features. The 'Glance' view now opens from exactly where it was designed to pull together shortcuts to frequent sites or launch new windows.
Tweaks were made to the URL bar as well, aimed at smoothing out some command-related issues. Again, these are subtle changes that simply enhance the overall functionality.
Unfortunately, Windows users are experiencing an issue where double-clicking on a tab is not functioning correctly at the moment. If you're using it specifically to open new tabs and find that frustrating (and maybe your workflow depends on it), don't sweat it too much. There's an easy workaround: head into the Zen preferences, toggle off 'draggable-sidebar,' and give it a shot. This feature will likely fix the double-clicking, although you'll lose the ability to drag your sidebar around as before.
Anyway, that pretty much covers what's changed in version 1.17.8b.
