VSCodium 1.107.18605 released
A new version of VSCodium has been released, bumping it to 1.107.18605.
A big chunk of this comes from developer Daiyam, who is working on several internal patches. They've been weaving these into different parts of the program, primarily boosting performance and smoothing out stability issues overall. On Windows, one notable change removes versioned resources, cutting down some unnecessary clutter for users behind the scenes. For Linux users, there's a new wrinkle too: logs will now use XDG_STATE_HOME if it’s set, which is probably more familiar than whatever was in place before and could help keep things cleaner.
Then there’s the framework update; Electron bumped to 39.2.7. This isn't strictly an internal tweak but helps ensure cross-platform consistency and might bring performance gains or stability improvements when you're actually doing coding work on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
Elsewhere, another developer named darkyzhou swapped out the LOONG64 image used in builds from beige to crimson, if that’s what it looks like. It’s likely just a cosmetic change for build configurations, but it should help keep things running smoother internally as part of the development and testing process updates.
Daiyam also tidied up the documentation by deleting an old or extra announcement about the build number itself. Hopefully this keeps everyone informed with less fluff.
And here's another substantial change from Daiyam: they've integrated insider builds into what is now considered the stable version of VS Code. That essentially means features that were previously only tested in the 'insider' channel, where early adopters check things out, are now being rolled out more broadly to all users with this release. Everyone using the standard build can now benefit from a faster testing loop.
