Samba 4.23.3 released
A new version of Samba is available. This latest stable release addresses some issues reported since the 4.23 series, particularly problems stemming from older versions like 4.22, which broke Time Machine compatibility.
Changes include:
- Resolving Spotlight search restrictions and ensuring default searches don't return too much data.
- Ensure that Spotlight finds the numbers.
- Preventing a potential crash related to name mangling in 'rpcd_mdssvc'.
- Ensuring leases update properly.
- Updating the correct file modification time ('mtime') for files moved back from the recycle bin with 'vfs_recycle'.
- Fixing an issue where 'samba-log-parser' failed due to a specific decoding error.
While these updates may not be groundbreaking, they significantly address some of the earlier issues in this release series.
To obtain this update, you can download the uncompressed tarballs and patch files. The release notes are also available.
