Samba 4.23.1 released
The Samba team has announced the release of the latest stable version in the 4.23 series, Samba 4.23.1. This update addresses several critical issues that were present in the previous version.
Key Bug Fixes and Improvements
The development team has worked diligently to resolve various bugs that affected the stability and performance of Samba. Some notable fixes include:
Alexander Bokovoy's patch for BUG 15920, which resolves an issue causing the DLZ plugin to crash due to incomplete bind configuration. Volker Lendecke's work on BUG 15914 ensures that winbind no longer crashes at startup. Anoop C S's correction for BUG 15919 prevents vfs_ceph_new from using ceph_ll_nonblocking_readv_writev for fsync_send, addressing a potential problem.
Andreas Schneider addressed the issue of CTDB not supporting PCP 7.0.0 in BUG 15904, while Martin Schwenke's patch for BUG 15921 ensures that CTDB_SOCKET can only be used when CTDB_TEST_MODE is enabled. Shachar Sharon also contributed to the correction for BUG 15919.
