Samba 4.22.6 released
The Samba development team is pleased to announce the latest stable release of the Samba 4.22 series, version 4.22.6. This update addresses several critical issues and ensures a more seamless experience for users.
A range of important bug fixes and enhancements have been incorporated into this new release, thanks to the efforts of dedicated developers. Some of the notable fixes include addressing issues with macOS Finder clients on DFS (Distributed File System) environments and resolving problems related to Time Machine backups and Spotlight search restrictions.
Multiple Domain Controllers (DCs) being returned during AD (Active Directory) join operations have also been fixed, ensuring smoother domain joins for users. Additionally, an issue where the 'net ads group' command failed to list domain groups correctly has been resolved. This fix improves the functionality of vfs_ceph_new and prevents potential crashes.
The stability of Samba's Clustered Trivial Database (CTDB) functionality has also been enhanced by fixing a bug that allowed CTDB_SOCKET to be used even when CTDB_TEST_MODE was not set.
The development team encourages users to engage with the community by discussing this release on the samba-technical mailing list or joining the #samba-technical matrix room or IRC channel. When reporting bugs, please provide high-quality feedback, including vital information that helps track down problems.
