pgAdmin 4 v9.9 released
The pgAdmin Development Team has announced the release of pgAdmin 9.9. This is a big update that adds many new features and fixes a lot of bugs in this powerful database management tool. This newest version has ten major improvements, all of which are carefully explained in the release notes that come with it for both developers and users to read.

One of the best things about pgAdmin 4 v9.9 is that it can do more , especially when it comes to using advanced database features. For example, this version now lets you change functions in PostgreSQL databases using the DEPENDS/NO DEPENDS ON EXTENSION syntax. Furthermore, when defining complex data types like range types and external types, which are very important for good data modeling, users can now choose more options.
Another great new feature in pgAdmin 4 v9.9 is that it makes secure connections even better. When using an identity file, users can now choose to skip the password dialog. This makes their work easier and lowers the risk of security problems. This version also adds support for the 'failover' and 'two_phase' parameters in the CREATE/ALTER SUBSCRIPTION command for PostgreSQL 17 and later.
Developers who use Kubernetes will like the new feature that lets them set up the pgAdmin4 Helm chart. This makes it easier to set up this tool in containerized environments. Users can also enjoy better performance and reliability thanks to a lot of bug fixes. For example, one fix made it so that query output showed "default" instead of "null" for null text data.
In addition to fixing bugs with database configuration, keyboard shortcuts, and saving preferences, pgAdmin 4 v9.9 also fixes other bugs. The tool now correctly creates the pgAdmin configuration database during a new installation when an external database is used for configuration. Additionally, we have improved the shortcut feature to ensure it functions flawlessly across all keyboard layouts.
