This specific update brings several improvements since the last one landed. If you previously experimented with font sizes in the Audio Mixer and observed unusual behavior from the buttons, or if tooltips disappeared when using the Classic theme, these issues have been resolved. Well, that seems fixed now. Contributor Warchamp7 probably had a look at those issues; they seem to have smoothed things out quite nicely.

On another front, pobrn sorted out something about how OBS describes PipeWire Camera sources; it used to miss the resolution or aspect ratio info sometimes, but you can probably expect details to show up correctly now. Also getting attention was an issue where you couldn't change profiles or video settings at all, which exeldro put right.

Things got bumpy for a few before, too, didn't they? One problem that could literally lock OBS transitions seems tackled now, and there was also another fix preventing the software from freezing, hopefully meaning fewer surprise crashes while you're working on your scenes or streaming setup. Details are always tricky with video hardware drivers, but this build might help things run more smoothly.

Beyond just ironing out rough spots, Beta 2 throws down some new features as well. For example, the audio mixer has been completely revamped, and the dialog for adding sources has undergone changes, which should simplify the process of incorporating them into your scenes.

They also refined something under the hood. Source names no longer carry the word "Source" in them; they probably look cleaner now. The Edit Transform dialog receives a little tweak as well, and copying scene items isn't just about cloning the item itself anymore; apparently you copy all its properties by default now.

Performance-wise, they've disabled those dock animations for Beta 2; it might be faster switching views that way. The transition preview button has also been moved to the main toolbar area for easier access. Default dock positions got rearranged too to try and make everything feel more organized from the jump.

Sean-Der deserves a nod for adding WebRTC Simulcast support, which should help with smoother video streaming depending on how you're using it. And while maybe not earth-shaking news, other changes like enabling palettes in the Light theme's audio mixers or bumping default bitrates up to 6000 kbps are there, perhaps aimed at giving users a little more fine-grained control.

Still cleaning things up: projector resolutions that had weird decimal values have been fixed. There's also proper alignment of the Preview/Program window dimensions and positions now, so everything lines up nicely within the OBS view. The Save function got some internal cleanup from OBSBasic::Save, seems focused on saving just the frontend canvas scenes/groups now.

More bugs? Well, they addressed the NAL type for HEVC captions or something called BPM SEIs by dsaedtler. They also addressed a video scaling issue in multivideo encoder setups.

Chapter markers used to show up wrong when splitting files; I hope they're fixed now so timings are accurate again. Is anyone else experiencing black thumbnails when viewing recordings? That seems addressed as well, likely due to the way OBS handles previews differently this time around.

pkviet's work paid off for NVIDIA Blur effects; less banding or splotchiness should show up correctly in Beta 2. macOS users might find Screen Capture behaves somewhat differently now too; default settings probably avoid picking items accidentally anymore. tytan652 wrapped things up by resolving PipeWire issues related to framerate on capturing devices.

So, this beta seems focused on fixing problems and making some welcome tweaks; grab it if you're testing and let us know what breaks!
