This release fixes many problems and bugs that were in the previous versions. Users should use the Mesa GitLab issue tracker to report any new problems they find with this release.

On October 29th, two weeks from now, the next release with bug fixes will come out.

Mesa 25.2.5 has a long list of fixes and improvements made by many developers. There are some important changes among these contributions.

There have been fixes for several problems with shaders, such as issues with Panfrost and Mesa's support for real-time clocks. Vulkan/query_pool updates now save video encode feedback correctly, and radv has been changed to only show requested encode query results.

There have also been changes to the version control and documentation. The SHA sum for the last release (25.2.4) has been added, pick_status.json has been updated with new commit hashes, and the VERSION file has been changed to show the new release number.

The Zink module no longer uses VK lazy allocations or transient attachments. This should make things run better in some situations. There are also fixes for memory leaks in Vulkan/runtime and radv.

Mesa 25.2.5 has many fixes and improvements. Here are just a few of them. The changelog has the complete list of changes.

The development team is still working on new releases. The next one, which will address bugs, is set for October 29th. As always, users are asked to let us know if they experience any problems with this or future releases so that we can improve the graphics library.

Along with these bug fixes and improvements, some other parts of the Mesa codebase have also been changed. For instance, ACO's optimizer now correctly handles the wrong order of operands, and RADV's creation of border color samplers now correctly fails when invalid parameters are given.
