Manjaro Linux 26.0.1, codenamed Anh-Linh, has been released with several updates and improvements. For GNOME users, the edition now includes updates from September 2025, which may result in fewer bugs and smoother system operation. The release also brings upgrades to Plasma, including rounded window corners, an automatic theme switcher, and improved Application Permissions management. Additionally, the XFCE edition has been updated with a new file manager, refined panel configuration options, and enhanced Control Center tools.

Manjaro Linux 26.0.1 (code-named Anh-Linh) is now available. The team behind Manjaro has quietly rolled out this latest version. For GNOME users, the edition based on GNOME 49 gets several updates from September 2025.

The calendar improvements in GNOME 49 are notable. It now has a cleaner interface that handles different screen sizes better than before. You can even manually hide the sidebar, handy if you're working with smaller displays or using tiled windows.

Performance inside the software application, which pulls data from repositories like Flathub, is another area focused on here. The developers have made tweaks to how it parses information from Flatpak apps, reducing memory use and speeding up things considerably. The outcome means your app store might feel snappier, especially if you're running Manjaro on hardware that isn't super powerful.

Gnome 49 also brings a new HDR wallpaper gallery. It's tied into better color management in the window manager (Mutter), letting it properly handle high-dynamic-range displays and P3 color spaces. These wallpapers are rendered with extra precision, hitting full 16-bit RGB values per channel, which translates to more vibrant colors and better contrast.

There's also a practical improvement for those connecting remotely. The built-in remote desktop features have been beefed up in GNOME 49, offering potentially smoother and more feature-rich connections when working away from your main machine.

Over on the Plasma side, Manjaro users get access to the latest version of that desktop environment, the Plasma 6.5 series, along with Frameworks 6.21 and KDE Gear updates. As always with Manjaro Plasma editions, this release brings several welcome changes.

Rounded bottom window corners are one feature now available via Breeze themes if you want them. You can turn the corner effect on or off easily through settings; it's not an automatic feature but something you control. And for theme lovers, there's a new automatic switcher based on time of day that lets your Plasma desktop change from light to dark by itself.

The Application Permissions page has also been updated and given more scope. It goes beyond Flatpak permissions now and allows users to manage broader application rights; things like taking screenshots or accepting remote input requests are covered here too if you need finer-grained control.

Plasma's own RDP server handles the sharing of credentials across devices much better than before. This eliminates the need to create separate accounts for basic clipboard syncing between local and remote setups, thereby simplifying a common task.

Other helpful upgrades include improved print spooler notifications that inform users when their ink or toner level is getting low, maybe even empty, while hibernating directly from the login screen is now supported, which could be useful in certain situations like laptops running out of battery.

The XFCE edition offers Xfce 4.20 with its own set of noteworthy upgrades. Thunar's file manager gets a new way to visually distinguish between different types of files via background and foreground color changes; it can help highlight specific items amidst many looking ones. There's also recursive search capability built-in, which makes finding scattered files easier.

The panel configuration options have been refined further for Xfce users. You can now set the exact length in pixels rather than vague percentages, and there's a "keep panel above windows" setting that determines how maximized applications interact with it; they take up the screen behind the panel instead of pushing it around.

Control Center brings several new tools into one convenient interface window for tweaking various desktop functions. The ability to disable header bars in dialogs via the Appearance module is one example, but you can also control context menu options like 'delete' and even set multi-monitor behavior preferences before adding a second display, which feels pretty intuitive compared to some other distros.

This release builds on top of Kernel 6.18 with all the latest drivers, though Manjaro continues offering LTS kernels (like 6.12 or earlier) for users who prefer that approach specifically because their hardware requires it and cannot run the newer stuff smoothly.
