KDE Gear 25.12.1 released

KDE Gear just released version 25.12.1. Alongside this new number came updates for over 180 separate programs and tools, plus some library tweaks and plugin enhancements. Naturally, there were plenty of bug fixes too, aiming to make things smoother overall.

Speaking of smooth, one update deals with Dolphin getting better when folks migrate from older session formats. On another note, a crash in Kate's Project plugin has been fixed; that old reported issue #513753 is solved now. And Skladnik got an update where it will no longer trigger mouse release events unnecessarily after drag actions end.

Then there are the core applications, like Akonadi, which saw some database configuration and storage handling improvements. Akregator also had a fix to make sure its main window stays visible in the system tray properly. For Arianna, things were patched up related to saving font settings.

Even Event Views got better date formatting now. Elisa's Context View can handle header labels that are too long for the space without issues. Grantlee-Editor fixed a package version problem, and Itinerary saw multiple updates boosting its performance and features, including fixes for APK builds, sort order consistency in the reservation manager, and smoother Nominatim requests.

Looking at other parts: KAlarm improved comments within it, cleaning up some X11 references along the way. Kalk had a sidebar tidy-up. Kamose's initialization process was adjusted as part of its fix but essentially reverted due to issues. Kasts corrected a problem with OPML exports related to version attributes. Kate itself received several updates for better performance and stability.

Smaller corners like KBreakout just removed one extra blank line from their GitLab CI config file, which might seem minor but keeps things tidy internally. KDE Connect-KDE handled some device capabilities storage more reliably now and sorted out that annoying initial Bluetooth disabledness issue.

Kdenlive also saw multiple improvements in project monitoring and audio capture. It's all those little things adding up to a better experience with the latest Gear release.

You can find the full rundown of changes on the KDE Gear website if you want details about each update specifically.
