There have been some significant changes all around. The KDE Connect program now lets you use uppercase keysyms for portal input. This fixes bugs #483730, #489524, and #499121. Furthermore, ksanecore has been changed so that it doesn't crash when there are no source or mode options.

The Dolphin file manager has also been updated, and one of the changes stops crashes when you make a video preview panel with a media file you choose. Several bugs have been fixed in the Kdenlive video editor. These include problems with applying fade-to-black presets and dragging effects from other windows.

There have also been big changes to other parts. If you compile the Konqueror web browser with Plasma 6.5, it will no longer be able to run activities. This improvement is meant to address bug #509937.

Kitinerary has improved its patterns for extracting addresses from booking.com and added new extractor scripts for different airlines and ticket types. Kio-extras has also been changed to take into account limit arguments that are passed in. This fixes a problem with tracking recent usage.

Krdc has received an update that fixes bug #509042 by detecting DPI changes and letting the remote-view implementation know about them. Furthermore, KWeather has changed a lot to make its settings easier to understand, get rid of page animations, and use a simple StackView.

Other parts have also been updated and had bugs fixed. For example, kpkpass can now handle UTF-8 BOMs in message catalogs, and umbrello has fixed the movement of association widgets.

The goal of these changes is to make KDE Gear 25.08.2's many applications and libraries work better, be more stable, and be easier to use.
