The KDE community has announced the release of KDE Frameworks 6.18.0, a new release of this collection of libraries and frameworks for building modern applications.

New Features and Improvements

This release marks the culmination of efforts from the KDE Frameworks team, with numerous enhancements and bug fixes contributing to a more stable and efficient platform. Some notable improvements include:

1. Baloo: A fix has been applied to the casing of the ecm_generate_headers prefix argument value.
2. Breeze Icons: Several issues have been resolved in this release, including sorting generated qrc files (bug #508718), removing non-standard colorful app icon sizes (bug #508299), and replacing symlinks with actual file references.
3. Extra CMake Modules: New features have been added to ecm_generate_headers, including documentation for target include directories that require no extra setup. Additionally, missing RUNSTATEDIR has been added to KDEInstallDirsCommon.
4. Framework Integration: Popups are now enabled for device notifications.
5. KArchive: Bugs have been fixed in the 7z module, including initialization of seqInStream and coderIndex variables (bugs #508717, #508718), crash fixes on malformed files (bugs #508719, #508720), and improved tests.
6. KAuth: The ExecuteJob method has been modified to prevent warnings when an application lacks windows.
7. KConfig: Unit test input data has been fixed, and Clazy suggestions have been addressed regarding the use of static regex.
8. KIO: Several issues have been resolved in this release, including fixing bug #407509 (Rename file name), bug #382325 (mimeComment for .desktop files), and bug #508185 (mount point lookup).
9. Kirigami: Various typos have been fixed, and bugs have been addressed related to breadcrumb mode, sidebar visibility, and item destruction.
10. KTextEditor: Kate modeline autocompletion has been added, performance issues with deleting multiple lines have been fixed, and selection drawing for block selection has been improved.
