Kali Linux 2025.3 released

The latest version of Kali Linux, 2025.3, is now available, bringing with it a host of new features, updates, and enhancements to further solidify its position as the go-to distribution for penetration testing and information security professionals.

Among the key highlights of this release is the introduction of Nexmon support on Raspberry Pi devices, which enables users to take advantage of monitor mode and injection capabilities. This feature, combined with the existing support for Broadcom and Cypress wireless chips, opens up a wide range of possibilities for wireless hacking and pentesting.

Kali Linux has also made major advances regarding its use of HashiCorp's Packer and Vagrant tools, which are now being used to streamline the platform building process. To ensure consistency and efficiency, the team has refreshed several components, such as Kali pre-seed examples, Packer build scripts, and VM build scripts.

Another notable change is the decision to drop support for the ARMel (Acorn RISC Machine, Little-Endian) architecture, which aligns with Debian's own decision to discontinue support for this architecture. While this may impact users of legacy devices such as the Raspberry Pi 1 and ODROID-W, the limited number of affected devices means that resources can be redirected towards more modern architectures.

Kali Linux 2025.3 also introduces a VPN IP panel plugin that users can configure, allowing them to choose which network interface to monitor for their VPN connection. Environments that simultaneously use multiple VPN connections find this feature particularly useful.

In terms of new tools, the distribution has added a range of exciting packages, including Caido, Detect It Easy, Gemini CLI, krbrelayx, ligolo-mp, and many more. These additions further enhance Kali Linux's capabilities for network scanning, vulnerability assessment, and web security auditing.

The Kali NetHunter team has also been busy working on updates to the mobile version of Kali, which now supports wireless injection on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S10. The CARsenal update brings significant changes and new features, including a rewritten UI, improved documentation, and support for OnePlus 6 devices running LineageOS 22.2.

Finally, the team has been working on various bug fixes and improvements, thanks in large part to the efforts of @kimocoder, who has contributed significantly to the project's stability and performance.

As Kali Linux continues to evolve and improve, users can expect even more exciting developments in future releases. With a focus on UI updates, better MSF screen terminal integration, simulator updates, and more, there's never been a better time to be a part of the Kali community.

In addition to the above-mentioned changes, kernel module installation with Magisk is now supported and included in the released install images. While still in its experimental phase, this feature has the potential to significantly enhance the capabilities of Kali NetHunter on Android devices.

The team behind Kali Linux is committed to continually pushing the boundaries of what's possible with this powerful distribution. As always, users are encouraged to get involved and contribute to the project, whether through bug reporting, code contributions, or simply providing feedback and suggestions for future development.
