Goverlay 1.6.7 released
If you use tools like MangoHud or OptiScaler to manage your graphics overlay in games, you'll want to check out the latest Goverlay update (version 1.6.7). It’s designed to make things smoother and easier for users relying on these systems.
One big change is new channel selection options for OptiScaler itself, not just through Goverlay indirectly, but directly via the config. Now you can pick between stable or bleeding-edge builds, which makes choosing what works best for your setup much more direct. That said, Goverlay has also been updated to better sync with OptiScaler’s different channels, simplifying updates and keeping everyone on track.
This release also includes some specific GNOME fixes. If dark themes cause the text in tabs to disappear, this update should make it much clearer, a welcome improvement for some users. Beyond just looks, debugging support has gotten quite serious too: there are dozens of new debug checkpoints across OptiScaler-related parts of Goverlay’s code and operations.
For those who use Steam via Flatpak (like many people do), the developers added MangoHud configuration options specifically within the Goverlay flatpak setup. That's a big deal for users wanting that specific feature combination. The real gift here, though, is that Goverlay is practically ready for Flathub approval itself, meaning you might soon be able to install it directly from there using Flatpak.
