GNOME 49.1 released
The GNOME Project has announced the release of GNOME 49.1, a stable update for the GNOME 49 series that fixes bugs. This version is meant to be a safe and smooth upgrade from older versions of GNOME 49.
GNOME 49.1 fixes many bugs and makes a lot of improvements to different modules and apps. Some important changes are:
- at-spi2-core: Fixes for potential crashes and build failures.
- calls: Improved daemon startup, USSD support, and DBus activation.
- epiphany: Addressed several issues related to the address bar dropdown, non-Latin character display, and memory handling.
- gdm: Fixed a bug that left gnome-shell in a locked-up state and improved userdb implementation.
- gjs: Required GLib 2.86 for building and addressed various bugs and merge requests.
- gtk: Several fixes for text shadowing, hyperlink support, and clipboard demo issues.
Various apps received numerous translation updates.
There aren't any major new features or changes in GNOME 49.1 compared to earlier versions of GNOME 49. It's mostly a bug fix release. So, it should be safe for people who have been using older versions of GNOME 49 to upgrade.
