Fedora Linux 43 is now in final freeze

Fedora Linux 43 has now entered its final stage of development, known as the Final Freeze phase. This critical period began at 14:00 UTC and will determine the last set of packages to be included in the upcoming release.

During this time, only a select group of packages that address specific blocker or freeze exception bugs will be marked as stable and incorporated into the final composites. These exceptions allow for critical issues to be resolved without disrupting the overall development process. Conversely, other builds will remain in the updates-testing repository until the final release is approved.

Upon completion of the Final Freeze phase, the packages that have been deemed stable will be pushed to the 'updates' repository, making them available to users immediately. Additionally, any pending updates that were previously held back will be released as zero-day updates before the final release, ensuring that users receive the latest security patches and bug fixes.

The earliest anticipated release date for Fedora Linux 43 is October 21st, 2025. However, this timeline may be adjusted if unforeseen issues arise during the final stages of development. The Fedora team will continue to monitor progress closely and make necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth and successful launch.
