The Debian Installer team has officially announced the third and potentially final release candidate of the Debian 13 "Trixie" installer. The release includes updates like a refreshed Mirrors.masterlist, the addition of linux-image-powerpc64le-64k for ppc64el images, the removal of some udebs, an upgrade of the Linux kernel ABI to 6.12.38+deb13, better depthcharge images, and a stop to automatic copying of firmware files. The release accommodates 78 languages and is free of any significant bugs.

The Debian Installer team[1] is pleased to announce the third and likely final release candidate of the installer for Debian 13 "Trixie".

Improvements in this release

* choose-mirror:
- Update Mirrors.masterlist.
* debian-cd:
- Include linux-image-powerpc64le-64k on ppc64el images.
- Exclude more udebs, saving some space on images.
* debian-installer:
- Bump Linux kernel ABI to 6.12.38+deb13.
- Improve depthcharge images.
* hw-detect:
- Avoid systematically copying firmware files that are embedded in the installer's initramfs (#1106005).

Localization status

* 78 languages are supported in this release.
* Full translation for 32 of them.

Known bugs in this release

* There seems to be no known major bug as of yet.
