The latest version of Bazzite Linux, version 43.20260101, has been released and brings several updates and improvements to the operating system. This release includes upgrades to core packages such as the kernel, firmware, and Mesa, as well as refreshed versions of Gamescope, Bazaar, and Ptyxis. Additionally, desktop environments Gnome and KDE have been updated with their latest versions, and Nvidia users can now access driver updates for both newer and long-term support cards.

Bazzite Linux 43.20260101 released

Bazzite Linux 43.20260101 has arrived, bringing with it a host of updates and improvements. The core packages have seen upgrades: the kernel is up to version 6.17.7-ba22, and firmware and Mesa both got updated; they're at 20251125-1 and 25.3.1-2, respectively.

Gamescope has been refreshed for this release, bringing it to ba147-1.bazzite version. Bazaar also had a good update (tagged as 0.7.0-1), while Ptyxis received significant revisions at 49.2-1, though I'm not sure what the original number was before.

On the desktop front, Gnome's been updated to 49.2.2-1, and KDE has its latest version here, which is 6.5.4-2.

For Nvidia users specifically, there are driver updates available for both newer and long-term support (LTS) cards, versions 590.44.01-1 and 580.95.05-1, respectively, if I'm not mistaken about the release numbering styles.

Digging into who did what: looking at the commits, developers Zeglius, Bradley Bellairs, and Andy Lee have been busy fixing things.

Zeglius focused on a bug related to liveiso builds that prevented Nvidia graphics from initializing properly. Meanwhile, Bradley and Andy worked together on some tricky Containerfile setups and corrected a typo in iwd's wireless config option; that one is probably pretty minor for most people, but it's good they caught it.

Under the hood: several system components got version bumps as well. xapp-symbolic-icons moved from 1.0.6-1 to 1.0.7-1, while packages like ibus-m17n (now at 1.4.36-2), leptonica (version 5.3.1-2?), libnbd, passt, python3-olefile, and tesseract-common saw updates too.

And let's not forget Gnome and KDE; they also got slight tweaks themselves this time around. Assimp received a minor update at version 6.0.2-5, while xdg-user-dirs-gtk bumped to 0.16-1 as well.

If you want to grab these updates, the process is simple: just run bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable (if your current setup points to that latest branch) or specify the build number directly with "bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 43.20260101." You can also grab the actual Bazzite Linux ISO files straight from their main website.
